The Open Studios painting sessions at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center have expanded with new classes on acrylic painting with Betty Warmdahl on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon. The focus will be on solutions to problems and demonstration of watercolor/acrylic techniques, and beginners are welcome.

That symbiotic relationship between fishermen and the oil industry, however, became tensely strained Apr. 20, when a deepwater drilling rig exploded, sinking to the seabed two days later and sending a massive plume of oil near the fisheries and bayous where the locals make a living.

Nearing Holy Week, the airwaves are jammed with commercials on road assistance and car tune up suggestions. We wont travel in a rickety car and waste no time in getting it a diagnostic. But what about your body? Shouldnt it be getting a tune up too?
